Hearst Magazines today announced that Brad Rosenfeld has been named senior vice president and general manager of the Autos Group, a new position for the division. The announcement was made by Hearst Magazines President Debi Chirichella, to whom he will report.
Rosenfeld will be responsible for developing and overseeing brand-level consumer strategies that drive innovation, revenue growth and profitability across Hearst’s collection of auto-focused brands, including Autoweek, Bring a Trailer, Car and Driver, and Road & Track in addition to the recently acquired MotorTrend Group brands.
“Brad is a strategic and entrepreneurial leader with extensive experience in scaling marketplaces and media businesses,” Chirichella said. “His unique background in digital and the automotive sector and his exceptional operational and business thought leadership make him the ideal candidate as we expand our portfolio of auto-focused brands and build upon the strong foundation of our autos business,” Chirichella said.
Rosenfeld joins Hearst from CarGurus, where he served as executive vice president of digital retail and wholesale commercialization. At CarGurus, he built and led the development of transformative B2C and B2B digital retail business lines and empowered large, diverse teams to achieve significant business growth.
“I am thrilled to join Hearst and contribute to its dynamic and innovative culture,” Rosenfeld said. “I’m looking forward to collaborating with the talented teams and working towards the continued success and growth of its collection of iconic automotive brands.”
Prior to CarGurus, Rosenfeld spent nearly a decade at Amazon, where he held various general manager and category leadership roles, including managing multiple imprints for Amazon Publishing and building the digital music business in Southern Europe.
Rosenfeld will begin his new role on January 20, 2025.
