Elle Decor Italia celebrates its 35th anniversary with the unveiling of “Elle Decor Alchemica” at the prestigious Palazzo Bovara during Milano Design Week 2025 (April 7-13). Curated by the celebrated Patricia Urquiola, alongside contributors Valerio Tiberi for lighting design and Antonio Perazzi for landscape design, the immersive installation brings to life the ongoing metamorphosis of living spaces.
Drawing on the ancient symbolism of alchemy, the exhibition reimagines homes as evolving organisms and traces their transformation through the alchemic phases of ‘Nigredo,’ ‘Albedo,’ and ‘Rubedo.’ Visitors can explore dynamic settings like a kitchen-laboratory and an indoor garden designed to inspire and reflect modern sustainable living.
The installation is a collaboration with over 50 partner companies, including KYOCERA, Duravit, and Material Bank, showcasing cutting-edge sustainable materials and practices. A key partner, ALMA International School of Italian Cuisine, provides gastronomic experiences blending tradition with innovation.
“Elle Decor Alchemica” is not only a design showcase but also a manifesto for future living, promoting adaptability to the societal transitions of our time. With free admission upon registration, Elle Decor Italia invites attendees to explore this transformative journey, firmly establishing its role as a global leader in design innovation.
The event is part of Hearst Italia’s broader Design Week initiatives. These include “La Casa dell’Architetto” by Marie Claire Maison, “Elledecoration.it Theatre,” and “Appartamento Spagnolo,” which collectively highlight innovative perspectives on interior design and global materials.
