Hearst Netherlands and PXR Join Forces on Health Brands

PXR will take on publishing four sport and lifestyle brands from Health Netherlands beginning October 1.

PUBLISHED: Sep 13, 2024

Starting October 1, PXR will publish four sports and lifestyle titles from Hearst Magazines International under license in the Netherlands. The popular multi-platform brands included in this agreement are Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Bicycling, and Runner’s World. With this strategic partnership, PXR strengthens its growing portfolio in the sports and lifestyle market.

Strategic Addition to PXR’s Portfolio
The four titles, each a market leader in their respective segments, complement PXR’s existing portfolio: sports, lifestyle, technology, and automotive. This collaboration reinforces PXR’s position as a leading publisher in the sports and lifestyle world. PXR will offer its readers even more high-quality content in the areas of health, fitness, cycling, and running.

Ernst Keyzer, CEO of PXR, on the collaboration: “The addition of these strong brands to our portfolio offers immense opportunities. Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Bicycling, and Runner’s World are all renowned titles that perfectly align with our mission to build real connections with  sports & fitness enthusiasts and communities. We look forward to elevating these brands in print and online and continuing to inspire our readers.”

“PXR is a best-in-class publisher in The Netherlands, and we are thrilled to welcome them into our global network of 48 license partners across 47 countries,” adds Joe Martin, VP Media Licensing of Hearst Magazines International.

Marscha Krouwel, CEO of Hearst Netherlands, adds: “We are excited to collaborate with PXR and welcome them as our licensing partner. PXR’s expertise in (online) publishing of sports and lifestyle titles seamlessly aligns with our brands. Through this partnership, we can further strengthen the power of our iconic brands Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Bicycling, and Runner’s World, and better meet the needs of the Dutch market.”

From October 1, 2024, the partnership will officially begin, and the transition of publishing activities from Hearst to PXR will take place gradually. Starting in October, PXR will publish the print editions of the various titles. In the following months, there will be a phased handover of online activities, ensuring the quality and continuity of the magazines for readers and advertisers.

Both parties are looking forward to this new phase of collaboration with confidence, aiming to further develop and expand the sports and lifestyle community in the Netherlands.
