Hearst Spain has reduced its carbon footprint by 46% since 2019 through a robust sustainability plan launched in 2023. The plan emphasizes social and environmental responsibility, guiding all operations to minimize impact.

Key initiatives include:

  • Energy-efficient office optimization in Madrid and Barcelona, alongside improved waste management.
  • Sustainable supply chain practices, encouraging eco-friendly technologies in printing, distribution, and transportation.
  • Eliminating plastic in magazine deliveries and using PEFC-certified paper.
  • Third-party audits certifying emission reductions.
  • Employee education and awareness on environmental responsibility.

Thanks to these efforts, Hearst Spain reduced its emissions by 4,458 tons of CO2 since 2019, which is approximately equivalent to planting 204,545 trees or the area equivalent to 275 soccer fields*.

Environmental responsibility is a core value of Hearst’s business strategy. With the extensive reach of its global brands, Hearst recognizes its unique duty to address the climate crisis. The company’s sustainability strategy is built on three key pillars: educating audiences, reducing its carbon footprint, and providing B2B solutions to help other organizations meet their climate goals.

As part of the company’s long-term leadership strategy in environmental and social responsibility, Hearst Spain remains committed to driving change that contribute to make the planet a more habitable place.
