Hearst Italia has appointed Massimo Russo as the head of Harper’s BAZAAR Italia, tasked with creating an editorial plan supported by a highly professional team. Russo aims to elevate Harper’s BAZAAR Italia into a platform that uses fashion as a lens to reinterpret culture, art, photography, cinema, music, digital media, and contemporary lifestyles, establishing a new standard for luxury.
Harper’s BAZAAR’s Italian journey began in 2020 with a digital launch, adding a print edition by late 2022, quickly becoming a reference for fashion, accessories, and beauty with notable circulation and digital audience metrics. This success is attributed to the efforts led by Daria Veledeeva, now transitioning to Editor at Large.
Sissy Vian (Creative Fashion Director), Suburbia (London-based creative studio for Creative Direction), and Stefano Tonchi (Editorial Director) have significantly contributed to the magazine’s vision. Russo, maintaining his role as Chief Content Officer of Hearst Italia, now oversees Harper’s BAZAAR across all platforms.
Giacomo Moletto, CEO of Hearst Italia, expressed confidence in Russo’s journalistic expertise and the professional team’s ability to enrich and expand the brand’s prestigious identity. Russo emphasizes the evolving nature of luxury and beauty as keys to interpreting and anticipating cultural trends, intending to position Bazaar as a contemporary and complex representation of modern luxury.
Veledeeva expressed gratitude for the journey of launching Harper’s BAZAAR Italia and looks forward to her new role, confident in Russo’s leadership to continue the magazine’s evolution.
