Harper’s Bazaar Italy’s editorial team, led by Daria Veledeeva, is expanded by the arrival of Stefano Tonchi, a media professional of international stature, as is new Editorial Director starting from May.
In his new role, Tonchi will support the editorial direction in defining the brand’s editorial line, contributing to content, relationship with the photographers and the international fashion system and applying his creativity to the development of special initiatives and projects aimed at brand’s positioning.
Stefano Tonchi’s role will span through all the platforms of Harper’s Bazaar Italia, from the traditional magazine to digital formats, from shootings to video, audio, events and interactive initiatives, to ensure the consistency of the brand message across all touchpoints of the reader’s journey.

Stefano Tonchi is a fashion journalist, author and curator. Born in Florence he lives in New York from 1992 and over the course of his award-winning career in the magazine industry he held the roles of Editor in Chief of T: The New York Times Style Magazine and of W Magazine, from 2003 to 2019, after being Fashion and the Editorial Director for the Palm Beach based hyper-luxury multimedia brand PALMER and in March 2023 launched in Los Angeles TheWrapBook, a publication at the intersection of Art and Entertainment.
Tonchi has been a curator for multiple fashion exhibitions in Florence, Rome and Milan and is the author of books on the Culture of Fashion. He is a consultant for the Savannah College of Art and Design where he currently has on view the fashion exhibition Genderquake.
