Since its launch in the United States in 2005, “Women’s Health” has been advocating for women’s mental and physical health. The Japanese version was launched online in May 2017 followed by “Women’s Health SHOP” in September 2021.

As the brand celebrates its 5th anniversary, Kiriko Kageyama, Editor-in-Chief marked the occasion with the following statement:

Mental and physical health is important for people to be happy. With that in mind, Women’s Health has consistently provided “information and opportunities to help keep the mind and body healthy.”

I think that the importance of mental and physical health has been prioritized by people all over the world through the pandemic which reinforced that our mood is impacted by our environment. Since the first issue, I have published articles on zero waste and sustainability and practiced plogging (garbage picking run), and now that we are on our 5th anniversary, I decided to add a “healthy environment” as one of our core pillars: Mind, body and earth.

For Women’s Health Japan, well-being is “health of mind, body and earth which = happiness“. Every day in May we are publishing articles and actionable ideas that embody this on Instagram. And at “Women’s Health Shop,” we have strengthened our line-up of environmentally friendly and ethical products.

We look forward to future efforts that embody this new positioning for Women’s Health Japan.
